About The Program

What exactly is included in the $499/month program?

Everything. Your monthly subscription covers your compounded GLP-1 medication, discreet home delivery within 48–72 hours, a monthly 1-on-1 video visit with Urooj, dose adjustments as needed, and secure messaging between visits. There are no hidden fees, no pharmacy trips, and no surprise charges. One price all access.

What is GLP-1 therapy and how does it work?

GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) receptor agonists are a class of medications that work by regulating appetite, slowing gastric emptying, and improving your body’s insulin response. Medications like semaglutide and tirzepatide activate this pathway, helping your body shift from fat storage to fat burning — even when previous diet and exercise efforts haven’t produced lasting results. When prescribed and managed with precision, clinical studies show patients can lose 15–25% of body weight over time.

What's the difference between semaglutide and tirzepatide?

Semaglutide is a single GLP-1 receptor agonist clinically proven with strong outcomes for most patients.

Tirzepatide is a dual GIP/GLP-1 receptor agonist it activates two pathways simultaneously and clinical trials show slightly stronger average weight loss. It may also be better tolerated by some patients.

Urooj will recommend the right medication for your specific biology, history, and goals during your $99 eligibility consultation. There is no one-size answer it’s a clinical decision, not a menu choice.

Is this a weight loss program or a medical practice?

It is a medical practice. Nuu Metabolic is not a wellness app, a coaching program, or a subscription box. Urooj Mujtaba is a board-certified PA-C with 15 years of emergency medicine experience and an active Illinois DEA license. Every decision medication selection, dosing, titration, lab interpretation is a clinical judgment made by a licensed provider who knows your case. This is precision medicine delivered with the convenience of telehealth.

How is Nuu Metabolic different from Hims, Ro, or other GLP-1 telehealth companies?

At most GLP-1 telehealth platforms, you fill out a form, get approved by a provider you’ll never see again, and receive a prescription. That is not what happens here.

At Nuu Metabolic: Urooj is your provider at every single visit. You are not one of thousands of patients routed through a system. Your labs are reviewed personally. Your dose is adjusted based on your response. Your questions are answered by the clinician managing your care not a support team. This is the concierge model that high-volume platforms structurally cannot offer.

Getting started

What happens during the $99 consultation?

Your $99 eligibility consultation is a live, 1-on-1 video visit with Urooj via our secure telehealth platform. During this visit she will review your health history, screen for contraindications, review any recent labs (within 3 months if available), identify the root metabolic factors contributing to your current situation, and build your personalized GLP-1 protocol, medication selection, starting dose, and titration plan. You will leave knowing exactly what your plan is and why. This consultation is required for all new patients and is non-refundable.

Do I need labs before my consultation?

Recent labs (within the last 3 months) are helpful and recommended they allow Urooj to do a more thorough root-cause analysis during your consultation. However, labs are not a hard requirement for starting. If you don’t have recent labs, Urooj will assess your candidacy based on your health history and clinical presentation. If labs are medically necessary before initiating treatment, she will let you know during the consultation.

Am I eligible? Who is a good candidate for GLP-1 therapy?

GLP-1 therapy is clinically indicated for adults who have a BMI of 27 or higher with at least one weight-related condition (such as insulin resistance, hypertension, or metabolic syndrome), or a BMI of 30 or higher regardless of comorbidities. Beyond the numbers, ideal candidates are motivated adults who have tried lifestyle modifications without sustainable results and are looking for a medically supervised approach.

Eligibility is determined by Urooj during your $99 consultation, not by an algorithm. If you are not a candidate, she will tell you directly and explain why.

How quickly will I receive my medication after starting?

Once your plan is approved and your subscription is confirmed, your compounded medication is processed through our pharmacy partner and shipped discreetly to your home within 48–72 hours. Packaging is discreet, there is nothing on the outside that indicates the contents. No pharmacy trips. No waiting in line.

Pricing & commitment

Why is the $499/month plan considered all-inclusive if I see different monthly tiers?

All three monthly tiers include exactly the same services medication, delivery, monthly visits, dose adjustments, and messaging. The difference is only the billing commitment: month-to-month at $499, 3 months upfront at $449/month ($1,347 total), or 6 months upfront at $419/month ($2,514 total). The longer the commitment, the lower the effective monthly rate. There is no difference in the quality or scope of care across tiers..

Can I cancel or pause my subscription?

Month-to-month subscribers can cancel before their next billing cycle with no penalty. Multi-month plans (3-month or 6-month) are billed upfront and are non-refundable once medication has been processed and shipped consistent with the terms outlined at enrollment. If you have extenuating medical circumstances, contact us directly and Urooj will review on a case-by-case basis.

Does insurance cover this?

Nuu Metabolic is a cash-pay practice. The monthly program fee is not billed to insurance. However, if you have insurance coverage for brand-name GLP-1 medications, Urooj can send the prescription to your preferred local pharmacy for you to fill using your coverage. The monthly clinical care fee remains the same. Contact us if you’d like to explore this option.

Safety & clinical care

What are the most common side effects?

The most commonly reported side effects with GLP-1 medications are gastrointestinal nausea, mild bloating, reduced appetite, and occasional constipation particularly in the early weeks of treatment. These are typically related to dose and tend to improve significantly with careful titration. Urooj starts patients at a low dose and increases gradually, which minimizes side effect burden. Serious side effects are rare and are part of the contraindication screening done during your initial consultation.

Who is NOT a candidate for GLP-1 therapy?

GLP-1 therapy is not appropriate for everyone. Contraindications include a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN2), active pancreatitis, Type 1 diabetes, certain kidney conditions, and pregnancy or planned pregnancy. There may be additional contraindications based on your individual health history. This is assessed thoroughly during your $99 eligibility consultation Urooj will not prescribe to patients for whom the medication is not clinically appropriate.

Are you available for questions between visits?

Yes. All patients have access to secure messaging between monthly visits through our clinical platform. If you have a question about your medication, a side effect you’re experiencing, or anything related to your care, you can message directly and receive a response from Urooj’s practice. This is not a chatbot. For urgent medical needs, patients should contact emergency services or go to their nearest ER.

Logistics

Do you serve patients outside Illinois?

Not at this time. Nuu Metabolic is currently licensed to serve patients located in the State of Illinois only. Illinois law requires that telehealth visits be conducted via synchronous (real-time) video, and that the provider hold an active Illinois license — both of which are in place. If you are located outside Illinois, we are unable to provide care at this time.

What technology do I need for my telehealth visits?

You need a smartphone, tablet, or computer with a working camera and microphone, and a reliable internet connection. Visits are conducted through our HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform no app download is required. You will receive a secure link prior to your visit. Most patients complete their visits from home, their office, or anywhere private and quiet.

How is my health information protected?

All patient data is stored and transmitted through HIPAA-compliant platforms. Your health information is never sold, shared with advertisers, or disclosed to third parties outside of what is required for your clinical care (e.g., pharmacy fulfillment). Nuu Metabolic operates under the full requirements of HIPAA and Illinois telehealth privacy standards.
